Our family, moved by a deep love for the magnificent countryside near Siena, had decided to restore an old farmhouse and give it new life through a passionate and careful renovation project, which went on for over three years. Today San Giovanni in Poggio is warm and cosy during the winter, has plenty of light, and still offers cool, shady shelter in the summer. The farmhouse offers beautiful apartments with swimming pool and wonderful panoramic views.

Renovation works at San Giovanni in Poggio have been carried out with maximum care for environmental preservation.
The thermal insulation, realized through the use of high performance materials, creates and maintains a perfect room temperature both in winter and summer, and at the same time keeps the power consumption to a minimum. Also, each apartment has an underfloor heating system which uses condensing boilers. The extraordinary thermal efficiency of this type of heating system guarantees an optimal temperature in each room and helps to create a healthy and hypo-allergenic environment, thus providing our guests with a high level of comfort.
Our inclination to a responsible use of natural resources also lead to the restoration of the old cistern for harvesting rainwater. The artificial lake at the foot of the surrounding hills provides the water for the garden irrigation.
